Frequently asked questions

Is my bank statement safe and private?

Your statement is read inside your browser. It is not uploaded to our servers, and this site loads no third-party scripts or ad trackers. We only send your Razorpay Payment ID to confirm a purchase. Even so, use a device you trust, and remove sensitive details if you share screenshots.

Will the bank pay automatically?

For failed transactions, RBI’s circular says compensation must be credited without waiting for a complaint. In practice many banks do not, which is why the letter asks them to calculate and credit it, and why the Escalation kit exists.

Why do I have to choose an incident type?

RBI sets different deadlines: T+1 for a UPI transfer that did not reach the beneficiary, T+5 for a UPI merchant payment, T+5 for an ATM that debited without dispensing cash, and so on. A statement line alone cannot tell the two UPI cases apart. When unsure we assume the longer deadline, which keeps the estimate on the cautious side.

Are these rules still in force in 2026?

Yes. See the “RBI rules 2026” tab: each rule is listed with its source, status and the date we verified it. The 2021 Ombudsman scheme was replaced by RB-IOS 2026 on 1 July 2026, and the letters here already reflect that.

How is the credit-card closure deadline counted?

Seven working days from the day after your request, counting Monday to Friday. Bank holidays are not excluded and the rule excludes days you took to clear dues, so check the actual deadline. We count conservatively, so the estimate is not inflated.

My PDF is password-protected. What password do I use?

It is set by your bank, often your date of birth (DDMMYYYY), part of your name with your date of birth, or your PAN or customer ID. Check the email or SMS that came with the statement. Press Enter after typing it.
